Australian Grand Prix

It was the Australian Grand Prix this weekend.  We didn't get any tickets, but we rode our bikes down to the track.  On our way there, we saw an F18 fighter jet doing a demonstration over the track. Bennett thought it was pretty col.  When we got there, we managed to peak over the fence in one spot to watch for a few minutes. Bennett absolutely loved it.   He was pretty disappointed when it was over.  We could hear the cars all the way from our house and he really wanted to go back the next day.

Hot air balloons

One of the touristy things that you can do in Melbourne is take a hot air balloon ride over the city.  They are usually first thing in the morning and Bennett and I see them when we ride to school.  One morning, as we were leaving, one of the balloons was hovering right over our house.  We could hear the flames jetting out to keep the balloon afloat.  They are quite spectacular and both Bennett and Glenn enjoy watching them.

Luna Park, St. Kilda

St Kilda is a pretty suburb of Melbourne, on the beach.  It has an amusement park called Luna Park and an artisan market selling various local wares - paintings of the area, didgeridoos, purses, jewellery, etc.  We went into Luna Park, and although Bennett was fascinated by the roller coaster, he didn't want to go on any rides. The highlight of the day for him was when Grandmaman bought him a chocolate ice cream cone that he managed to get all over his face and wouldn't share with anyone.  Merci Grandmaman!!

I want to ride my bicycle

Check out Bennett on his new bike.  He's come so far this year, and with this new skill, he's going to go even further!  Way to go Bennett. Ride on!!!
