This is from our backyard in Melbourne. I find the scenery reminiscent of Costa Rica, with the rolling hills and super greenery. There are so many birds too. This video shows Bennett's new favourite pastime.

First bites
Glenn has had her first bites of food! She tried a bit of rice cereal today. She was actually more interested in just playing with the spoon. She was almost feeding herself! And as you can see, she may take after her brother and be a southpaw too! Hopefully this will help her sleep through the night....Joelle can only hope!

Melbourne or Bust
We made it to Melbourne!! We left Vancouver on Friday the 20th at 2100 and arrived in Melbourne at 10am Sunday the 22nd (Melbourne time) which was 5pm Saturday in Vancouver. The flights went quite well considering. I was very proud of Bennett on the plane. He slept 8 hours on the first leg and 1.5 hours on the second leg (granted I did give him a little sedative!!). He kept his seatbelt on when he was awake. He watched some movies and played with some small surprises I had brought. He did have two meltdowns in the airports because he wanted to walk around and not stand in line, but overall, it went much better than I expected. Glenn was a breeze...she slept, ate and played on her usual schedule. She's forever the perfect baby.
We've been slowly getting used to the time change. We were all up in the middle of night for a few hours. Hopefully we'll only be a few more days before we are all on Melbourne time. The house we staying in is quite lovely. We have yet to go enjoy their inground trampoline though - the weather has been too wet. The town of Eltham where we are staying is quite lovely, despite being quite hilly! I somehow imagined Melbourne to be much flatter!
Stay tuned for more updates as time goes on.

Last days in Victoria
Well, it's hard to believe that our time in Victoria has come to an end. What a wonderful time it has been. On our last full day, we went to visit two potential schools for Bennett upon our return. Right now, it looks like the french school Victor Brodeur is our choice. It's a brand new school which caters from kindergarten to grade 12. We spent the rest of our day galavanting around the James' Bay neighbourhood.
Not sure if Bennett really understands what's about to happen, but he seems excited to see Grandmaman and Grandpapa again. Glenn is hitting all her milestones on schedule: she's cut her two bottom teeth and she can sit up on her own, as long as she is leaning forward on her hands. She's a super happy baby who's laugh is as contagious as her brother's.

New job
We are extremely happy to announce that we are definitely coming back to Victoria after our trip to Australia. Joelle was offered a job in the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Victoria General Hospital. We've been dreaming about settling in Victoria since we were here in 2002-2003. We are so relieved that we know what our lives will now entail. Finally, after 18 years of post secondary education, Joelle finally has a full time job!!! Better late than never!!
