Settling in

Life in Victoria is a dream.  Coming back to Victoria is like coming back home.  We are settling into our house in James Bay and having fun discovering the neighbourhood.  Bennett is attracting a lot of attention with his balance bike.  So many people stop us to ask where we got it that we thought we'd open up our own shop!!  Everyone is very friendly.  It truely feels like a small community.
Work is going well.  We are keeping all our fingers and toes crossed that I'll get the job here.  I doubt we'll know for quite some time though.
Bennett has almost definitely given up his afternoon naps.  On the plus side, he is going to bed very easily at about 6:30pm.  On the bad side, he is a little bit of work by late afternoon.  Otherwise, everyone is adjusting well.

Victoria or bust

Well, we've made it!  The past few weeks have been incredibly hectic.  We packed our entire house, had a very successful garage sale, attended a conference in California (Joelle and Glenn) and moved all our possessions into a 12'x21'x16' storage locker.  Rob and his dad Mike did all the moving themselves, with the help of an incredible invention called the Shoulder Dolly.  It saved their backs and their sanity!
We finally took the ferry across to Victoria on April 22nd at 5pm, getting us to our new, but temporary home at 7:30pm.  Bennett spent two hours riding his balance bike in the house and getting acquainted with all the nooks and crannies.  Joelle went to work the very next day.  It was a relief to find out that she hadn't lost too much of her skills in these four months of maternity leave.
We are really happy to be back in Victoria.  Bennett seems to be adjusting quite well so far.  Glenn has been a dream, taking the bottle for papa without a problem.  We are keeping our fingers crossed that Joelle will get the job here.  We'll keep you posted.
